Best Chefs Knife

A Zwilling Pro Chef Knife has a decent belly, and the handle promotes a pinch grip. A Wusthof Chef Knife has less of a belly but it might not be as "ergonomic". Both of these are heavy chef knives. If you prefer a lighter knife, A Shun Kanso Chef's Knife has a wooden handle and is lightweight. It has the angle on the handle promoting a pinch grip. It has a much flatter belly compared to the Wustof or Zwilling.

Handle type is an important consideration. If you're chopping vegetables or things that might make the area wet, a metal handle can get slippery, but this is purely a matter of personal preference. The wooden handle of the Shun will let you maintain a good grip throughout.
